Legos

Trying to post more frequently... we'll see. Dinner: Grilled salmon, left over spinach pasta "salad", broccoli and oranges from the tree.

So, the boys have definitely moved into Lego mode. They LOVE them. We got a simple 3-truck kit set from friends for the boys' 4th birthday. I thought for sure the Legos would be too old for them - nope. N was immediately entralled given it was a truck kit. S liked to see dad put the stuff together. They both loved seeing what the Legos made and I thought we'd stop there. No, they actually augmented the trucks with their own tilt and moved the Legos around. So, I then bought a couple of Star Wars kits (little ships, the $10 kind not the $100 kind!) for S and a couple of other truck kits (garbara and truck with boat trailer) for N. They were in heaven. Every morning the first thing they do is grab the Lego box, take it into N's room (his is the room of choice every morning even if he is still sleeping), and then start playing. Of course, each the morning after we introduced anything new, they'd get up earlier cause they were so excited. N has told me a number of times that he is so excited and can't stop thinking about his "fill in the blank truck of the day". He even had a hard time falling asleep at night he was so excited. We went to ToysRUs and got a generic box of 450 pieces of Legos along with 2 new kits (garbage truck for S - he's not been allowed to touch N's since N is so possessive of his garbara truck - and a dump truck for N). It is amazing how many Legos we've quickly stock piled but at the same time how we need more. J & I try to put things together for the boys and there just are not enough pieces. I think the Lego monster has just started to enter the house! It is so intense that the boys don't want to play outside (we will eventually insist and then they do have a good time but they can't wait to come in and play with their Legos again) and they've even elected to play a few more minutes rather than watch the Cars movie. Wow. That's big.

Books of choice at bedtime: King Bidgood's in the Bathtub (made a visit after a long time back on the shelf), RIchard Scarry's What do People Do (I think that is what it is called), Curious George and the Pancakes (again, not 100% sure of the exact title), and lastly the Snowy Day.
