Concerts and Puppets

We went to the (free!) concerts in the park over in Pasadena last night. The performer this week was Kiddle Karoo and her Kooky Puppet Krew (a bunch of various sized monster puppets). It is fascinating how kids just love puppets. S was so into the show. N & S were definitely into the picnic. So funny how I feel like I pack so much for them and then (I think) because we are in one place and hanging out so they can eat throughout the concert, they wind up eating everything and wondering what's next (uh, nothing!).

Funniest thing was on the way home from the concert. It was late (close to 8) and S was feeling tired so he was chilling in his carseat (thumb action going strong) and yet N was vamped up and just wanted to talk so bad. We were talking about how S really liked the show, N was trying to find out from S why he liked the show and so finally S just blurted out, "N, I'm trying to S. Please stop talking." N's feelings were, of course, hurt so I told him he could chat with me and sure enough he had something to say the whole way home. Yet, as usual, once the boys went to bed, N was out like a light (so fast!) yet S hung out reading in his bed pretty late.

Both boys did express a lot of interest in the various songs on the radio on the way to the concert (they are definitely fine tuning their taste). And S asked a couple of times after the concert if we could buy some of the ladies' music from the show.

Dinner: PB&J (N), grilled cheese, tomato and avocado sandwich (S), broccoli, yellow watermelon (mmm), sliced peaches, cheese stick, individual snack baggies of Cheerios, nuts, and cut up dried apples and dried peaches.

Activities: Lego's and concert

Books: Winnie the Pooh (N), The Giant Hug (S)
