Princesses

The boys went to the library with Evelyn yesterday and checked out a bunch of new books. I love that they love books and get so excited by new ones. So, when I got home yesterday afternoon, they were up a little early from their nap with their new library books out and they couldn't wait for me to read the books to them. They had each already picked out their first choice. We sat on the chaise and read S' book first...

Disney Princesses Sweethearts in the Snow

This book included a little story about Jasmine (from Aladdin) and Belle (from Beauty and the Beast). S was completely entranced. Told me he liked Belle best. N liked the monkey from the Aladdin storey.

We then read one of N's books, something about Tractors. Then S got to choose again... Disney Princesses Sweethearts in the Snow. Again. N's turn- Thomas the Train. S's turn - Disney Princesses again. And so forth. We must have read the Disney Princess book at least 6 times. Then the boys started playing Lego's... until J came home. What's the first thing S asked him to do? Read his Disney Princess book!

That night at bedtime when I told S his made-up story (his dad had read him the Disney Princess book for his story already), it involved him going to swim class and his preschool friends also happening to go to swim class at the same time and S couldn't wait to meet his teacher. And guess who his teacher was... Belle. In the story she told S she wasn't a princess but he said she was pretty like one. He then asked me to make sure part of the story included me having him (in the story) tell everyone (in the story) that his teacher's name was Belle. He was so happy from just that one thing. So sweet.

Dinner: chicken with cranberry sauce (a new recipe that N, J and I really liked but not S which was surprising because it had cranberries and ketchup in the recipe and those are two of his favorite ingredients), barley and broccoli. Strawberries, cinnamon apples, and raspberries.

Books: Bill & Pete (N), made up story for S (see above). Movie: Math Circus by Leap Frog
