It feels like we've been a house full of sick people for the last month. S and N both have had horrible coughs. We took S to the doctor because he could barely stop coughing throughout the day and he wasn't even able to sleep at night (poor guy). The doctor said he just needed to let it run its course and there wasn't anything to do at this point. That's hard to hear. He did tell us we could use a small (half) dose of a specific children's cough medicine. We wound up giving that to N and S because N of course then developed the same bad cough the next day. Unfortunately, (it took us a couple of days to figure this out) the cough syrup was giving N very bad dreams so when he was taking that he was not sleeping and so neither were we. It's been such a rough couple of weeks.
S finally was starting to feel better and not really coughing. N started getting worse and had a fever the last couple of days and seems to have developed pink eye again. So we were ready to deal with that. Sadly, this AM, S now woke up with a fever and his cough is back. When will this end? I think they are just passing it back and forth.
